Raymond G Talbot 85, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2024, with his loving daughters by his side. Raymond was born in Salem on September 23, 1938, to the late Narcissus (Pete) and Ida Talbot. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, the late Helen P (Scoglio) Talbot.
Upon graduation from Salem High School in 1957 he entered the National Guard and served for 2 years. Prior to serving in the Army for many years, he married the love of his life, Helen, in October of 1958. After the birth of his first child his wife and daughter followed him overseas to Germany where they lived for several years. Upon his return, he continued to serve his country for 8 more years as Staff Seargent in the Army Reserves.
Raymond was a Master Electrician and an avid member of the IBEW Local 103 in Boston for 60 years. No job was too big or too small for him to take on in order to support his family, which meant the world to him.
Ray is survived by his daughters, Darleen DeCourcy and her late husband Jim of Beverly, Eileen Murray and her husband Don of Groveland, Deb Talbot-LeBlanc of Salem, and Rayleen McGrath and her husband Kevin C of Salem. His son Kevin A Talbot and his wife Sara of Georgia. His Grandchildren, Justin Talbot, Melissa Pena, William Talbot, Dr. Brendan DeCourcy, Tabitha St.Pierre, Colleen DeCourcy, Brady McGrath, Lucas Murray and Casey McGrath. His Great-Grandchildren, Sofia, James, William Jr., David, Olivia, and Aiden Talbot, Zakari and Jayce Pena. Along with many nieces and nephews.
May Ray & Helen be together again, with their dog Ebony, enjoy the tranquility of the Mountains and Lakes in Heaven.
Visiting hours for Ray will be held on Monday, March 25 from 4-7pm at the Murphy Funeral Home in Salem. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 26 at 11am at the Murphy Funeral Home followed by a burial at Annunciation Cemetery in Danvers. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
The family respectfully requests no Lily's in floral arrangements, due to allergies. All Donations should be sent to MSPCA, or Kaplan House in Danvers.
