Raymond "Ray" G Bousquet

Beverly- Raymond “Ray” Bousquet (78), of Beverly, passed away suddenly, on Wednesday July 29, 2026 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House surrounded by his loving family. Born in Derry, New Hampshire, Ray was the son of the late Bertille (Paquette) and Harvey Bousquet. Throughout his childhood, Ray grew up attending schools in Derry while working in his family restaurant called “Bousquet Lunch”. After he graduated from Pinkerton Academy, Ray continued working in the family business until he enlisted in the United States Army to serve his country.

Upon his honorable discharge, he took classes at North Shore Community College and began his career in the alarm and security industry where he would work throughout the north shore protecting businesses and homes alike. After retiring from the alarm industry in 2015, he began working in a new role for the Murphy Funeral Home in Salem, MA. For nine years he served as a funeral assistant during visiting hours and funerals, continuing to help families across the North Shore. He proudly served at the American Legion Post 331 as the Commander, giving back to Veterans any way that he could. He volunteered and helped with delivering meals to those in need on Easter for many years through the Post.

Outside of his work, Ray was a proud husband and father. A true patriarch, Ray loved spending time with his family. Whether Ray was visiting relatives in the Chesapeake Bay area, attending to his garden, birding, sitting topside on his son’s houseboat, watching his favorite Boston sports team, or keeping track of the horse race that was going on, everything he loved involved sharing it with his family. He will be remembered for his kind demeanor, his incredible work ethic, but above all as a loving husband and father.

Ray is survived by his wife of nearly 55 years Melanie Bousquet (Gerrard) of Beverly, his daughter Nicole Bousquet, his son Andrew Bousquet, many nieces, nephews and numerous cousins.

Arrangements: Visiting hours will take place on Tuesday August 11, 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the Murphy Funeral Home, located at 85 Federal St. Salem, MA. A vigil service will take place following at 6:30 PM.
