Salem

Raymond P. "Ray" Powers, age 74 husband of the late Theresa (O'Deal) Powers, with whom he shared over 50 years of marriage, of Salem died Saturday December 15 in Emerson Hospital Concord, following a long illness.

Mr. Powers was born raised and educated in Danvers, the son of the late Paul and Doris (Reading) Powers. Following his graduation from Danvers High School he served the United States Army during the Korean War.

Following his discharge he became a locksmith and was employed by Hayden Safe Lock Company of Salem for over 40 years until his retirement in 1995.

A dedicated Red Sox fan, he enjoyed being with his family.
Mr. Powers is survived by two sons Richard Powers and his fiancée Dawn Spurr of Peabody and Stephen Powers of Salem; a brother Bradley Powers of San Diego, Ca. and a granddaughter Michelle Powers of Peabody.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral on Thursday evening at 6:30 P.M. Visitation will immediately before the service Thursday from 5:00 P.M. to 6:30P.M.
