Raymond J. "Buddy" "Kelley" Kelley, age 84, husband of the late Theresa G. (Guilablult) of Salem died Sunday November 13, 2011 in Salem Hospital following a long illness.

Born in Boston, the son of the late Harold and Marie (St. Jean) Kelley, he was raised and educated in Boston at the Rice School. During World War II Mr. Kelley served in the United States Army, and was stationed in the Asiatic Pacific Theater of operations. A decorated veteran he has received the Army of Occupation Medal for Japan and the World War II Victory Medal.

Following his discharge, Mr. Kelley became a taxi driver for over 25 years. He was first employed by the former Irving Taxi Company in Salem and had retired from Community Taxi.

Mr. Kelley enjoyed his friends, playing cards and walking at the Mall.

He is survived by his daughter Joanne Kelley of Peabody, Deborah Kelley, who is like a second daughter, of Peabody, a sister Theresa LaMonde, of East Hartford, CT; a granddaughter Amanda (Kelley) Geiger and her husband Brian of Peabody, close and special friend, Bill Foustoukos of Peabody and many nieces, nephews and cousins, including Marguerite Durand and Ruth Getsick.

His funeral will be held on Thursday morning at 9:15 a.m. from the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., (cor of North St) Salem to be followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. James' Chapel, Federal St., Salem 01970. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Internment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the North Shore Cancer Center, 102 Endicott St., Danvers, MA 01923.
