PEABODY – Phyllis D. (Powers) Hatch, age 84 years, wife of the late John B. Hatch, Jr. died at her residence on Sunday November 17, 2019.  Born in Detroit, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Dorothy (Heeney) Powers.  Phyllis was a graduate of Salem High School, where she met her husband John.  They were married soon after high school and shared over 40 years of marriage until Johns passing in 1995.  Phyllis and her family moved to Peabody in 1970, where she lived for the past 49 years.

Phyllis was employed as a secretary for General Electric in Lynn in the Jet engine manufacturing division.  She was employed there for over 17 years.  Phyllis was a member of the AOH in Salem and the Polish American Club in Danvers.  Phyllis and John enjoyed dancing and she also enjoyed sewing and crafts.  She also embraced her Irish heritage.

Surviving Phyllis are her children, Scott Hatch and his wife Dorothy, Brian Hatch, Keith Hatch and his companion of many years Kris Fernandez and Eric Hatch and his companion of many years Pam Sweet.  Grandmother of Joslyn, Briana and Haley and Great grandmother of Jehsiah. Sister of Josephine Powers and aunt of several nieces and nephews.  Phyllis was also the mother of the late Mark Hatch who passed in 2006 and sister of the late Kathrine Mandrino..

Visiting hours will be held at the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St, corner of North St., Salem on Thursday November 21, 2019 from 4 to 8 p.m.  Her Funeral Mass will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Margin St, Peabody on Friday, November 22, 2019.  Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 300 5th Ave, Waltham, MA 02451.  For additional information or online guest book, please call 978-744-0497 or visit www.MurphyFuneralHome.com .
