IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Phyllis Ann
Arouth
March 20, 1940 – October 2, 2019
Phyllis Ann Arouth, 79, passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2019, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Attleboro, MA, Phyllis is the daughter of Peter and Stacia Schabowski and the sister of David Schabowski, who preceded her in death. She attended St. Joseph's School in Central Falls, RI and graduated with an Associate's Degree from Bryant College in Lincoln, RI. After college, Phyllis married and raised her family in Cumberland, Rhode Island. During her time in Cumberland, Phyllis also worked as a medical assistant in Attleboro.
In the early 1990's, Phyllis moved to Salem, MA, making her home in the Willows where she lived for 25 years. She worked as a receptionist at Marian Court Junior College and later moved to a job she loved at Salem State University. For over 10 years as a secretary for the Department of Education, Phyllis truly treasured her interactions with the students she assisted. In addition to her job at Salem State, Phyllis worked as a receptionist at the dental office of John Fisher until she retired.
Phyllis is survived by her brother, Stephen (Sue) Schabowski of The Villages, FL, their children, Kristen and Mark and their families, and several cousins. She is also survived by her three children: her daughter, Kimberly Arouth of Salem, and two sons Michael (Linda) Arouth of Pawtucket, RI, and Jeffrey (Cheryl) Arouth also of Salem. For 14 years, Phyllis cherished her three shining stars, Lily, Hunter, and Griffin, whom she loved to the moon and back. Being "Baba" was the highlight of her life, and she will continue to love and guide them always.
