Phillip Grieves died suddenly in a motor vehicle accident in Salem, MA on Sunday, August 9, 2015 at the age of 42.
Phillip is survived by his father, Phillip A. Grieves and his "Ma" Ann S. Grieves, Son; Anthony Phillip Grieves and long-time friend and mother of Anthony, Julie King Mir; his sisters, Kerrie Spinney and husband Darren Spinney, Coleen Gage and husband Earl Gage, Dawn Girard and husband Ken Girard, and Brother Joey Parshley III and Andrea. He is preceded in death by his Mother Mary Rita Price Grieves, his Maternal Grandparents James and Rita Price, his Paternal Grandparents Francis and Dorothy Grieves, Ralph and Ethel Connor and his loving Uncle Ted Dexter. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins.
Phillip was born on November 6, 1972 in Swampscott to Phil and Mary Grieves. He attended Swampscott schools and North Shore Tech.
Phillip had a great passion for sports through out his life. He had this in common with his Dad. He enjoyed cooking, dreamed of becoming a minister and was very social and found the good in all. Phillip loved people and was a generous, giving, kindhearted spirit. He made a friend and touched a heart wherever he went. He was born into a family with twin 4 year old sisters who watched over him as their golden haired little blue eyed brother. His Mom passed suddenly of an aneurysm when he was only 8 years old. He had a special place for her in his heart through out his journey in life. We are comforted that he is in her arms again. Ann Grieves became his "Ma" more than 27 years ago but had known him all of his life. She was a dedicated loving influence in Phillips life – Phillip insisted on calling her "Ma" as his other Mom.
A wake is scheduled for Saturday, August 15th at Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal Street, (cor of North St.) Salem from 1 pm – 4 pm with a Funeral Service at 4:00 P.M. John Connor, will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Phillip's life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the charity of your choice as that would be Phillips' wish.
