Obituary

Philip Morton Folger, age 89 of Salem, MA passed away on Monday November 9, 2015. Raised in Swampscott, son of the late Ernest Folger and Florence (Phillips) Folger. Philip graduated from Swampscott High School in 1944 prior to joining the US Air Force. He later attended Norwich University where he obtained a degree in Mechanical Engineering and subsequently went to work for GE at their Lynn Riverworks location. He was then transferred with GE Locomotives to Erie Pennsylvania where he later retired after 33 years of service, and then returned to Salem.
He is survived by his son Jeff Folger of Salem, MA and his wife Lisa, and his daughter Edie Folger Farrah of Atkinson, NH and her husband André Farrah and his 3 grandchildren Patrick, Erik and Alexandra. He is predeceased by his wife Paula, his brother John Folger and his sister Nancy Hammond.
A Memorial service will be held at the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St. (cor. of North St.) at 10AM on Tuesday November 17th. Visiting hours will be held at the Murphy Funeral Home on Monday November 16th from 4 to 8 PM. Friends and family are invited to attend. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to The American Diabetes Association 10 Speen St. 2nd floor Framingham, MA.
