Peter J. Zucaro, 83, died peacefully October 16, 2015 at Kaplan Family Hospice. He was the son of Eugene and Antoinette (Barone) Zucaro. Born and raised in Lynn and a graduate of Lynn English High School. Following his graduation he joined the Air Force and was stationed in Alaska, and Texas.
Following his discharge from the Air Force he was employed by Salem State College as a carpenter. Later he became a crossing guard at the Middle School at the corner of Broad and Dalton Parkway. Pater was a member of the ICC Beverly, and the Salem Moose. He was an avid golfer at Salem Municipal and was a fiercely independent individual.
Peter is survived by his daughters, Maria Zucaro of Salem, and Judith and her husband James Brophy of Beverly and his grandson Jimmy. He also leaves behind his brother Michael and his wife Lorna Zucaro of Dover, NH, and a sister Barbara and her husband Dominic Mastrocola of Lynn. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters Rose, and Jean.
Peters' funeral service will be held Friday, October 23rd at 10:00 AM at the Immaculate Conception Church 30 Union St., Salem. A period of visitation will be held on Thursday, October 22nd from 4 to 8 PM at Murphy Funeral Home 85 Federal St. Salem, MA. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105
