Peabody, MA — Peter George Sarbanis , age 101, of Peabody, passed away unexpectedly June 5, 2015, at Salem Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of the late Martha (Lazarakis) Sarbanis, with whom he had shared 64 years of marriage. Born and raised in Peabody, he was the son of the late George and Katherine (Kymbizis) Sarbanis. For over 35 years, he was the owner of the Log Cabin Restaurant in Salem with his sister, the late Irene Theodoracopoulos.

He was the loving father of Kathryn and her husband Robert Unger of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, Genie and her husband John Mitchell of Peabody, Christina and Paul Crowley of Danvers, three grandchildren, Matthew, Gregory and Breanna, one great granddaughter and many nieces and nephews.

Peter enjoyed spending time with his family and was an avid sports fan of the Patriots and Red Sox. He was predeceased by his brothers, Angelo Sarbanis, Chris Sarbanis, and four sisters, Celia Zoubantis, Mary Couluris, Irene Theodoracopoulos and Julia "Mitzi" Kappotis.

His funeral will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at 9:15 A.M. from the Murphy Funeral Home 85 Federal St, Salem MA to be followed by Funeral Services at 10:00 A.M in St Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church 7 Paleologos St Peabody, MA 01960. Interment will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Visiting Hours will be on Tuesday, June 9 from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M in the Murphy Funeral Home.
