Peter Macioci was born on May 1st 1936 in Providence, Rhode Island to Peter and Jennie Macioci. He was the youngest of four children, the oldest being Joseph J. Macioci, followed by John P. Macioci and Mary Jane McConnell.
He went to school in Providence Rhode Island at St. Pius Grammar, then to La Salle Academy, graduating in 1954, then went on to Brown University and graduated in 1958. He was in the Air Force as a first lieutenant from 1958 until 1960.
Peter was married to Diane Dowling from 1963 to 1973. Together they had two children, the oldest being Karen Beth Macioci followed by Dana Christine Macioci. He later married Carole Bertuccio of Salem, Massachusetts in 1980, who passed away in 1994. Later sharing his life with Sandra Baldwin, also from Salem, from 1998 until her passing in February 2008.
He had a long career as a stock broker from 1969 to 1997 in both Boston and Peterborough, New Hampshire. In 1997 he moved from Peterborough to Salem, MA to improve his quality of life and be closer to friends and family.
Peter began having heart problems in the 1970s that culminated with a heart transplant in January 1998 at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston which afforded him a full and happy additional 22 years.
Peter was preceded in death by his parents, brother Joe, brother John and sister Jane. He is survived by his daughters Karen Macioci of Weaverville, North Carolina and Dana Maher, her husband John and their son Jake Peter, all of Destin, Florida.
This was dictated to me by my father a few years back. If I had written it myself I would have mentioned what a brilliant and kind man he was. I would have said that he was resilient and tenacious and that his inner strength was astonishing. I would have remarked on his love for New England and it's sports teams, and his wit that kept us laughing. More than all of that I would point out that he was loved and appreciated by the people that knew him.
