Persis (Moody) Watts, age 95, wife of the late Alvin C. Watts , formerly of North Andover, died Wednesday February 18, 2009 in the North Shore Medical Center, Salem.

She was born, raised and educated in Lawrence, MA the daughter of the late John and Rose Moody. Following her graduation from high school and her late husband married and began their family.

They settled in North Andover where Mrs. Watts became and active member of the Trinitarian Congregational Church, for several years. After her husband retired, they moved to Ft Lauderdale were they remained for many years. During their married years Mrs. Watts was a caring wife and mother, always providing for her husbands needs. An avid reader, she also took great pleasure in knitting for her family.

Mrs. Watts is survived by three children Cynthia "Cindy" Rhodes and her husband Robert of Salem, Priscilla Walcott of Reading and David C.Watts of Tampa, Fl; seven grandchildren Keith E. Rhodes of Swampscott, Denise Perrault of Salem, NH, Greg Walcott of Wilsonville, Alabama, Dana Walcott of Reading, Steven Walcott of Brooklyn, NY, Nancy Cusack and Jess Watts both of Wakefield and 11 great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by son in law Philip Walcott, a brother Ralph Moody and a sister Ethel Miller.

Her funeral will be held on Monday at 11:00 A.M in the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., (cor of North St) Salem Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 P.M. Interment will be in Ridgewood Cemetery, North Andover. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Association, P.O.
