Persephoni (Papoutsy) Zarkades went to the Lord Thursday morning, May 12, 2016, at her winter home in Summerfield, Florida at the Spruce Creek Golf and Country Club after a three year battle with Alzheimer's Disease.

Born in Haverhill, MA, the daughter of the late Gregory and Anna Papoutsy, she graduated from Haverhill High School in 1958 and was a member of the National Honor Society. In 1962 she married Anthone Zarkades of Beverly, MA, with whom she shared 54 years of marriage. A wonderful wife and loving mother, she was devoted to her family. Pat was a natural athlete and avid golfer, enjoyed cooking, travel, and her five grandchildren. She was a long time member of St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church in Peabody, MA and St. Mark Greek Orthodox Church in Belleview, FL, and a member of the Daughters of Penelope and the Philoptochos Society. She worked for many years as a secretary and bookkeeper for Vinnin Square Liquors of Swampscott.

She was predeceased by her brother John and her sister Marcia Infiorati, and is survived by her husband Anthone of Salem, MA, her sister Rose Kokoras of Peabody, MA, her children Harry of Newburyport, MA, Tony of Huntington Beach, CA, Daughters-in-law Kristin and Jennifer, and grandchildren, Christian, Kara, Mirabel, Gabriel and Tony. She also had many beloved nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., (cor of North St.) Salem, from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Liturgy Service will be held at St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, 7 Paleologos St, Peabody, MA, on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. followed by interment at Linwood Cemetery, 41 John Ward Ave., Haverhill, MA. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Flowers can be sent to Murphy Funeral Home.
