Pearl Mary Lajoie, age 92, formerly of Stadium Condos in Lynn, passed away at the Grace House of Windham in Windham, New Hampshire on July 1, 2016. The daughter of the late Napoleon and Evelyn "Cote" Lajoie, she was born and raised in Salem where she attended and graduated from St. Joseph's school. After completing her education she began a 42 year career at General Electric as an inspector, working mostly at the Lynn facility. Pearl was an avid dancer who enjoyed ballroom and line dancing. She also loved to travel the world extensively with her good friend Ann Freitas.
Pearl is survived by her brother Gerard "Jerry" Lajoie and his wife Margaret "Peggy" (Stone) Lajoie and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brother Clarence and his wife Therasa (Gagney) Lajoie, and her sister Doris Bourque and her husband Roland.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday July 7, 2016 from 4 to 8PM at The Murphy Funeral Home 85 Federal Street (corner of North Street) Salem, MA 01970. Her funeral will take place Friday July 8, 2016 at 10AM, also at The Murphy Funeral Home and will be immediately followed by internment at St. Mary's Cemetery in Salem.
