Salem - Pauline Jacqueline (Pelletier) Sullivan of Salem, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, June 13, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 30, 1935 in Salem, Massachusetts and graduated from Salem High School in 1954, where she made many lifelong friends.
Pauline enjoyed a long career as an accounts payable specialist in Boston. In her retirement, she was an active member of the Salem Senior Center and served as a bingo caller for many years. Pauline also proudly served as a voting poll worker for the City of Salem. Pauline especially loved spending time with her family, and she always had a full house for family gatherings and holidays. Pauline had a deep affection for all animals and had a special place in her heart for her cats. She embraced the Polish heritage of her stepfather and their childhood neighborhood, which fostered a lifelong appreciation for Polish culture, music, and dance. She enjoyed traveling to visit family, including trips to Omaha to see her parents and her twin brother, affectionately known as "Polka" Paul. Pauline also cherished her travels to Poland with her brother and friends.
Pauline is survived by her children Patrick (Cheryl), Colleen (Joseph), Daniel, Elizabeth (Russell), and Francine; nine grandchildren: Shannon and Amanda Cloutier of Massachusetts; Diane DiMambro of New Hampshire; Sarah DiMambro of Massachusetts; Nicole Hall of New York; Nathan Vestal of New Hampshire; Joshua Vestal, Matthew, and Andrew Vestal of Ohio; and fourteen great-grandchildren. Pauline was preceded in death by her mother, Beatrice (Matton), stepfather, Stanley J. Jaworski, and father, Albert J. Pelletier, her twin brother Paul Jacques Pelletier, sister Claire McDonald, and her dearly beloved daughter Ann Marie (Pelletier) Cloutier.
Visiting hours will be held at the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal Street, Salem on Thursday, June 19, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at John Paul II Divine Mercy Shrine, 30 St Peter Street, Salem on Friday, June 20, 2025, at 10:00 AM. Following the service, Pauline will be laid to rest at St. Mary's Cemetery in Salem.
