Rowley…

Pauline F. (Galvin) Latawiec, age 90, wife of the late Stanley A. Latawiec, died Monday evening July 6, 2015 at Seaview Retreat in Rowley. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Rourke) Galvin. She resided in Peabody until her marriage, when she moved to Salem where she had reside for over 65 years. She was a devoted home maker, loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Mrs. Latawiec was employed with Ideal Baby Shoe Company in Danvers, working as a bench operator and had retired from Union Carbide as a machine operator. She was a member of the Lady's AOH in Peabody and Salem. In 2003, the Peabody AOH bestowed the honor of Irish Woman of the Year. She was an avid gardener and loved to travel to Florida, Hawaii and California. She most enjoyed family celebrations and get togethers. The family would also like to express a special thank you to the staff at the Seaview Retreat in Rowley for the loving and compassionate care they provided Pauline and her family.

Surviving her are one son, Leonard A. Latawiec and his wife Kathleen of Newburyport, her grandchildren, Paulette Roccio of Rowe, MA, Brian Latawiec of Las Vegas, NV, Jennifer Schaaff of Nottingham, NH, her great grandchildren, Madison and Morgan Roccio of Rowe, MA, Freddy Schaaff IV of Nottingham, NH, her sisters, Eleanor Ward and Phyllis Hanson both of North Carolina and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Anne Smith, Mae Mason, Kay Sullivan, John Galvin, andFrank Galvin

Her Funeral Service will be held at the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., (Cor of North St.) on Friday at 11:30 a.m. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 10:00 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
