Paul Nelson Richard passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 1

, 2018 at the Baker-Katz Residence in Haverhill MA.
Paul was born on April 2
nd
, 1948 seven minutes earlier than his twin brother David. He was the son of the late Pauline (St. Pierre) Richard and Robert J. "Bud" Richard of Salem, MA , who then moved to Marblehead to raise their family.
Paul graduated from Marblehead High School in 1966 and received his Bachelors Degree from New Mexico Highlands University. In New Mexico, he was exposed to Mexican food, diverse cultures and Coors beer which he then brought back to share with his family and friends back east.
Upon graduating he returned home and began a career as a social worker for the MA Department of Transitional Assistance in Salem MA. where he worked for many years . He later moved to Seattle Washington, where he was employed at the Department of Social Security.
Paul was an avid sports fan, particularly of the Patriots and could recite to you any football facts from the "original" Patriots team.
Paul is survived by his brother Robert J "R.J" Richard of Marblehead and Fort Myers Florida, his niece Brooke Richard of Portsmouth NH and his nephew Brett Richard of Plum Island MA.
He was predeceased by his parents and his brother David Raoul Richard.
The family would like to acknowledge and thank all of the staff at the Baker Katz Residence in Haverhill, as well as Pauls' devoted friends, David Norman and his wife Sandy of Taos, New Mexico, Leland Linkhart of Oregon, and Dick Collins of Georgetown MA .
There will be a ceremony of burial held at Pauls' parents' graveside at Waterside Cemetery in Marblehead at 11:00am on Friday, June 1

. A reception to follow at Marblehead Yacht Club In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sunshine Fund at Baker Katz Nursing Home , 194 Boardman Street in Haverhill MA 01830 c/ o Terry Thompson, LSW. His funeral arrangements are being handled by Murphy Funeral Home in Salem, MA.
