Paul E. Queenan, age 48 of Salem died at home unexpectedly on Friday December 21, 2007.

Born in Salem the son of the late John F. "Jack" and Winifred F. (Carroll) Queenan, he was educated in Salem Schools, Bishop Fenwick High School and Whittier Vocational Technical School in Haverhill . He recently completed his education at the City Lab Academy at Boston University (2006) and was employed as a research technician at Harvard University. He enjoyed his work in the lab and was known among his coworkers for his responsible, dependable and reliable nature.

A member of the Park St. Church in Boston, Paul loved the Arts especially Christian, country and Irish music. He also enjoyed reading as well as the visual arts. Paul was an integral part of his family and will be dearly missed by all especially at Christmas, a season he loved. He was a sensitive, caring person with a good soul and a keen sense of humor. He was looking forward to walking his recently engaged niece, Hayley down the aisle at her upcoming wedding.

Mr. Queenan is survived by his eight siblings Margaret Roberts and her husband Norman of Salem, Barbara Riley and her husband Salem Police Dept, Sgt. Mark Riley of Salem, George and Patricia Queenan of Salem, Joanne Comerford and James Camire of Methuen, Kathleen McMath of Salem, Jack Queenan and his wife Joanne of Salisbury , Ann M. Richardson of Salem, Patrick Queenan and his wife Laura of North Andover and Matthew Roberts of Salem; 21 nieces and nephews, Melissa Saravia, Mark and David Riley, Beth Connolly, Colleen Stevens and Michael Comerford, Jennifer Hurley, Amy, Hayley and Caitlyn McMath, Shannon Barrett, Halicia, Michelle, Shawn and Courtney Queenan, Corey Johnson, Melissa Richardson, Patrick and Megan Queenan, and Ashley Moore. Along with17 great-nieces and great nephews and his lifelong friends James and Dana Carney.

He was predeceased by a brother Gary Queenan.

His funeral will be held on Friday December 28th at 9:15 A.M. from the Murphy Funeral Home 85 Federal St (cor of North St) Salem to be followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M. in St. Thomas the Apostle Church on the Salem Peabody Line. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery Salem.
