Obituary

Paul Giblon, 73, of Marblehead passed away peacefully on June 11th at The Lafayette after a thirty-year challenge with Parkinson's Disease. He was predeceased by his parents and his first wife Carole.

Paul was born in Red Bank, NJ and spent his early years growing up in Rumson where he attended Christian Brothers Academy. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a BS degree in Economics, also from Monmouth University with an MBA in Finance as well as an MBA in Banking from Wharton's Stonier School of Banking. He held senior positions at several national banks in NJ and CT before beginning his second career as CFO of Ryders Health Management managing nursing homes throughout CT.

Paul was a gentle man with a quick wit making him well liked wherever he went. His brilliant mind allowed him to successfully pursue a myriad of different interests, from excelling at nautical as well as celestial navigation, bridge and poker, woodworking and mechanical endeavors. (Not all were successful as he blew off his thumb building a rocket in his teens!) Music was a passion in every genre from rock to opera. He enjoyed sailing his Tartan 37' Rhapsody in every Long Island port, the Hudson River, the coast of CT and all harbors between CT and Marblehead. Paul and his wife Pamela sailed from Westport, CT to their permanent home in Marblehead to be near family in 2013. Prior to moving to Marblehead Paul was an active member of Cedar Point Yacht Club in Westport where he was awarded the club's prestigious "Perpetual Award for Camaraderie" in sailing events and racing. Oil painting was his hobby when not on the water and he was proud to have two of his paintings curated for the annual Marblehead Festival of Art Show.  Paul loved traveling with his wife Pamela, and they experienced many adventures at home and abroad.

He is survived by his wife Pamela of Marblehead; his two children Lauren and Brian Giblon of San Francisco; Pamela's three daughters, Jennifer Costello and husband Greg of Plymouth and children Molly and Collin; Jocelyn Hamilton and daughter Reagan of Marblehead; and Sarah Lubeck and Jonathan  and children Tyler, Tucker, Cassidy and Peyton of Marblehead; his brother Tom Giblon and wife Janice of Morganville, NJ and his sister Noel and husband David Manion of Danville, CA.  Services are private.
