Salem….
Paul D. Butler, age 59 of Salem died in the Kaplan Family Hospice House, early Friday morning, August 21, 2009.
A lifelong resident of Salem, he was the son of the late John J. and Sally Butler Sr. and attended Salem schools. Following his graduation from Salem High School in the Class of 1968, he began a career in construction with the former C. B. Gainey Construction Co., specializing in masonry. During that period he was the sole supporter of his family. Later, Mr. Butler became self employed in the construction industry working with various contractors throughout the North Shore.
A loyal friend to many, he loved the outdoors, going to Maine and hunting. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by two brothers, John J. Butler, Jr. of Marblehead and Peter Butler and his wife Doreen of Merrimac, MA.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother Brian David Butler and a sister Jeanne Marie Longval.
Private funeral services are under the direction of the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St. Salem.
