IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Paul H.
Burns
September 23, 1942 – August 26, 2022
Paul H. "Motor" Burns, age 79, husband of Rosemarie (Senna) Burns, passed away on Friday, August 26, 2022. Born in Lynn, he to the late Richard H. Burns and Lois (Gould) Kingsley. Raised in Marblehead, Paul was a graduate of Marblehead High School and Wentworth Institute of Technology.
Paul's love for automobiles began at the age of 10 when he went to the Autorama in Boston. That visit inspired his passion to make some of the most unique designs in automobiles. His vision was far beyond normal expectations and never a disappointment. Paul began running a dragster, The Spirit of '76, and raced many well-known racers such as Shirley Muldowney and TV Tommy Ivo, to name a couple. He opened a restoration shop, Motor Inc., in Marblehead 50 years ago and continued to restore and build vintage and classic cars until recently. In 2017, Motor was awarded a plaque at the New England Drag Way, Hot Rod Hall of Fame.
In addition to his wife, Paul is survived by his brother Peter G. Burns and his wife Helene Regen of Cambridge; sister Marion and her husband Mike Keating of Marblehead; nephew Jason and his wife Jacqueline Conrad; niece Brianna Keating; great niece and nephew Emma and Liam Conrad and his beloved granddaughter Victoria Castro, all of Marblehead.
A celebration of life will be held next spring at the New England Drag Way. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Paul's name to the charity of one's choice. Arrangements by the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal Street, Salem. For additional information, please visit www.murphyfuneralhome.com or call 978-744-0497.
