IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Patrick Michael
Ryan
December 27, 1955 – August 8, 2025
Patrick Michael Ryan (69), of Salem, passed away on Friday August 8, 2025, at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness. Born in Salem, Patrick was the son of late Judith M. (Hughes) and Martin "Marty" P. Ryan. Patrick grew up attending primary school in Coral Gables Florida. He went onto attend Bishop Fenwick High School in Danvers.
During his tenure for the Crusaders, Patrick experienced a devastating loss when his father passed away his sophomore year. Overcoming that adversity, he shined on the football field and was a devoted leader to his teammates and fellow classmates. Patrick held the rushing record as a star full back his senior year and was a leader of his team over his four years there. As a member of the Class of 1974, he was given the Loudest Senior as his superlative for his magnetic personality and ability to connect and reach so many within his class.
Patrick was offered a scholarship to Notre Dame for his amazing achievements on the field. Instead, Patrick made the decision to serve his country. Patrick went onto enlist in the United States Navy from 1974 to 1977. Upon his honorable discharge, Patrick worked in many fields, including cab driving, and hotel hospitality. Patrick was a graduate of the 1992 graduating class for the Essex County Sheriff's Department where he served as a Deputy Sheriff for 27 years. He also was a sworn Reserve Beverly Police Officer from 2000-2004.
Above all, Patrick will be remembered as a devoted husband and a loving father and grandfather, to his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Patrick is survived by his wife of 19 years, Tina Ryan, his children Joshua Ryan, Joseph Ryan, Rachel Ryan, James Ryan, his stepson Austin Lynds, his 13 grandchildren, his siblings Sheamus Ryan, Kerri Ryan, and his beloved Persian cats Finn, Liam, and Paddy.
