Owen J. McKenna, age 71, husband of Jane (Swasey) McKenna, died Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Owen J. and Anna Mary (Murphy) McKenna. He was raised in Roslindale and had graduated from Catholic Memorial High School in the class of 1962. He continued his education and received his Associates Degree from Franklin Institute and his Engineering Degree from Northeastern University.

Mr. McKenna, was a Civil Engineer employed with the Engineering Consulting firms Charles T. Main (1966 - 1973) and Camp, Dresser & McKee (1973 - 2013). He worked on variety of construction projects including roadways and water treatment plants until his retirement. The most important part of Mr. McKenna's life was his family. He enjoyed his home and weekly family dinners. Mr. McKenna was an avid salt water fisherman and later in life, he enjoyed golf.

Surviving him in addition to his wife are his two sons, Michael O. McKenna and his wife Sarah of Beverly and Neal J. McKenna and his wife Annika of Hamilton, his brother Robert M. McKenna and his wife Judith of Marshfield and his three grandchildren Parker, Caroline and Adele.

His Funeral Services will be held at St. Michael's Episcopal Church, 26 Pleasant St., Marblehead on Friday, June 5, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. Visiting hours will be held at the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., (cor of North St) Salem on Thursday , June 4, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Burial will be private.
