Norma L. (Lowell) Perkins, age 90, wife of Martin P. Perkins, Sr., died Saturday, July 11, 2015 at the Devereux House in Marblehead following a lengthy illness. Born in St. Albans, VT, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred A. and Albertine (Mahoit) Lowell. She was raised in Lynn where she attended Lynn English High School. Mrs. Perkins was married to the Late Norman Grondin, who died in France during World War II.

Mrs. Perkins has been a resident of Salem for over 60 years, where she raised her family with Martin. She started her employment at Hytron in Salem as an assembler and continued working with Salem Hospital as a Diet Technician, helping the patients with their meal selections and menus. She was also a past cub scout den mother and was a member of the Moose Lodge in Salem having been a past regent. She was also an associate of the Immaculate Conception Church Drum and Bugle.

Surviving her in addition to her husband are her children, Martin P. Perkins, Jr and his wife Carol of Arizona, David A. Perkins of Salem, Robert L. Perkins and his wife Justine of West New Field Maine, and Donald J. Perkins of Salem, her brothers and sister James Lowell of Concord, Constance Callahan of Laconia, NH, Leo Cassady of Lake View, FL, her grandchildren Krystle Sprei, Nicole Perkins, Dr. Jennifer Baugh and her husband Craig, Danyelle Parker, her great grandchildren Carter Sprei, Daeva Sprie, Riley, Caroline and Bridget Parker, Julia, Seth, Zoe and Sophia Baugh, and Alisha Cefalo and Monica Blanchard and several nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Edward A. Grondin and Elizabeth Marie Perkins and sister of the late Richard, Bernard and Forest Lowell and June Madden.

Her funeral will be held on Thursday July 16, 2015 at 9:15 a.m. at the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., (corner of North St.) Salem, followed by a Funeral Mass at the Immaculate Conception Church, 15 Hawthorne Blvd., Salem MA. at 10:00AM. Visiting hours will be held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5:00PM to 8:00PM. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery.
