Nora G Hogan, 89, formerly of Salem, Massachusetts passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, at the Kentmere Nursing Facility in Wilmington, DE on Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011. She was the loving wife of the late James F. (Buddy) Hogan.

Born in Boston, MA to the late John and Anna (Graham) Gee, on August 3, 1921, Nora
was raised and educated in Webster, MA and was a graduate of St. Louis High School. As a young woman she worked at Bates Shoe Company. During her life she was fortunate to have traveled the world and more recently her travels brought her to Naples, FL.

She was married in 1967 to the love of her life, James F. Hogan at St. James in Salem and they enjoyed 13 wonderful years before Jim passed away. The marriage brought Nora to Salem where she made her home for 40 years. For many years she worked at Stowaway Sweets in Marblehead, MA where she had many wonderful friends.

Nora was very active in the St. James community. She served as a Eucharistic Minister, was a member of the St. James Woman's Guild, and taught CCD education for many years.
She was a woman of unbending Faith, courage, and determination and was an adoring grandmother to her six grandchildren. She now joins Jim in peace forever.

She is survived by her grateful children, Anne T. Hogan, James M. Hogan, Meg R. Dolan and her husband, Kevin, Christopher B. Hogan and his wife Patricia, all of Wilmington, DE; as well as her grandchildren; Elizabeth, Mary Kate, and Moira Dolan, Matthew, Catherine and John Hogan. She leaves behind her brother, Rev John Gee of Auburn, MA. Her brother in laws Richard Hogan and his wife Barbara of Danvers, MA and John Wanamaker of Johnstown, Pa. , and several nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday, January 22, at 9:15 AM from the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., (cor of North St) Salem to be followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M in St. James Church, 161 Federal St. Salem. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be on Friday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the Murphy Funeral Home. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem.
