Salem – Nora (Tgettis) Ganey, age 96, wife of the late Francis Ganey with whom she shared 58 years of marriage, died Saturday March 31, 2018 in Salem.  Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Christos and Florence (Zacopulis) Tgettis.  Nora had lived in Salem all of her life.

Mrs. Ganey started her career with Hytron.  She worked for several years until she started her family.  She was a stay at home Mom who loved to cook, bake and garden.  She very much enjoyed teaching her grandchildren traditional Greek Cooking.

When her children started school, Nora went to work at Deerskin Trading Post working Mother's hours.  She remained with them for many years working in the mail order department.     She was a member of St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church in Peabody.

Surviving her are her children, Diane Geannacoupulos and her husband Dean of Creston, CA, Jo-Ann McQueeney and her husband James of Peabody, Jeffrey Ganey and his wife Gerry of Salem, Sandra Mandell and her husband Blair of Scotts Valley, CA, her brothers and sister, Artemis Gregoire and Nicholas Tgettis both of Salem, Helen George of Danvers, her grandchildren Christina, Keith, Robert, David, Selena, Amanda, Sydney, Shawn, Holly, Max and Arianna, her great grandchildren, Gabriel and Lincoln and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her brothers Alexander,Charles and Harry Tgettis and her sister Alice Patterson.

Mrs. Ganey's Visiting hours will be held at the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., corner of North Street, Salem, MA on Monday April 9, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M.  Her Funeral Service will be held at the Murphy Funeral Home on Tuesday April 10, 2018 at 11:00 A.M.
