Salem….
Nancylee Olbrych, age 56 of Salem died Sunday in Shaughnessy Kaplan Hospital following an eighteen year battle with cancer.
Born in Beverly, the daughter of the late Edward and Mary (Caron) Olbrych. She was also predeceased by her guardian of 27 years Genevieve Pelchat, of Salem. She was educated in the Salem Public School and was a graduate of Salem High School Class of 1970.
A very lively character, Nancylee was a member of the Democratic Committee, active in local politics and had been a strong supporter in the campaigns of City of Salem Councilors Steve Pinto and Kevin Harvey. She was also involved in the Salem Council on Aging. For almost 40 years, she had been employed by the Essex County Registry of Deeds in Salem. During her time at the Registry she served as head of the Union. An active parishioner of the Immaculate Conception Church, she had taught C.C. D for several years.
Miss Olbrych is survived by her cousins June and her husband Harry Pasquier of Salem, Dianne Harvey and her granddaughter Juleah Harvey of Beverly, and Donna Sachs of Salem; a cousin Brenda Martinson of Danvers, an aunt Gertrude Basile of Danvers; her good friends Joseph and Barbara Chidiac of Peabody and the Jennings Family of Salem.
Her funeral will be held on Saturday at 9:30 A.M. from the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., (cor of North St) Salem to be followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M. in the Immaculate Conception Church, 15 Hawthorne Blvd., Salem. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be immediately before the funeral on Saturday from 8:30 A.M. to 9:30 A.M. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
