Miriam T. "Mid" Hamond, age 89, died Sunday evening January 25, 2015 at the Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport. Born in Utica, New York, she was the daughter of the late Norman T. and Florence (Light) Thomas. She was raised in Marblehead and had graduated from Marblehead High School. She had attended Bradford College.
Mrs. Hamond was employed with the Town of Marblehead for many years in the Tree and Light Department. She was an avid Boston sports fan, enjoying the Patriots, Bruins and Red Sox.
Surviving her are two sons, N. Roy Hamond and his wife Karen of Newbury and R. Thomas Hamond and his wife Sheila of Marblehead and her grandchildren, Tammy Hamond, Tara Kellner, Jeremy Hamond, Jason Hamond, Jillian Buckus, Jennifer Hamond and four great-granddaughters, Julia, Jenna, Felicia, and Alexis.
Her Funeral Services will be held at St. Michael's Church, 26 Pleasant St., Marblehead on Friday, January 30, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. As requested there are no visiting hours. Burial in Waterside Cemetery. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Associaiton , 75 East Concord St., Room C3, Boston, MA 02118.
