Michele K. Washburn, age 40, beloved wife of Michael Digris, died Sunday evening, March 9, 2014 surrounded by her family at the Kaplan Family Hospice House, Danvers following a lengthy illness.

Born in Albany, NY, she was the daughter of Mary (Gallagher) Washburn of Clifton Park, NY and the late Thomas Washburn.  Michele was raised in Clifton Park and graduated from Shenendehowa High School in the class of 1992.  Following High School, Michele graduated from Ithaca College.  She continued her education and graduated from Villanova University School of Law and earned her L.L.M. from Boston University.  Michele was employed with State Street Bank and Trust on Lincoln St, Boston until her illness kept her from working.

Michele was active in her community and was a board member of Historic Salem and a member of the Cheerfuls of Salem.  She was also active with A.C.E. and enjoyed Marathon Running.

In addition to her Husband and Mother, she is survived by her two sons, Thomas and Edward Digris of Salem and her brother James Washburn of Cohoes, NY.

Micheles Funeral Service will be held at the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal Street, (cor of North St.), Salem on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 11:00 A.M.  Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.  Burial will be held privately.  It is requested that Memorial Contributions be made to: The Ryeom Lab, C/O Jim Riley, BRB 409, Department of Cancer Biology, Abramson Family Cancer Research Institute, U.
