Messina (Ingemi)(Deschamps)Amenta, age 93, loving wife of the late Paul W. Deschamps and the late George S. Amenta, died Thursday morning November 20, 2014 at the Tidewell Hopsice in Port Charlotte Florida. Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Stefano and Josephine (Tomasso) Ingemi. She had attended Salem Public School having played basketball with the Saltonstall Elementary School.
Messina was a resident of Beverly for several years at the beginning of her marriage to Paul Deschamps and moved back to Salem . She helped Paul with his business at, Witch City Welding.
Messina married her second husband, George Amenta in 1962. Soon after George's retirement, they became "snowbirds" enjoying the winters in Florida. Mrs. Amenta enjoyed playing Bingo. Following Georges passing in 2005, she relocated to Florida where she lived year round.
Surviving her are her two children, Pauline A. "Paulie" Graves and her husband Lee of Los Angeles, CA, Richard S. Deschamps and his wife Linda Lapham-Deschamps of Punta Gorda, FL, 3 grandchildren, Tech Sgt Ashley Deschamps and her husband Tim Hutchinson, Aaron L. Deschamps, Lee "Paul" Graves and his wife Diana, one great grandchild, Lily Lynne Graves, one brother Steve Ingemi and many nieces and nephews. She was also the grandmother of the late Lynne M. Graves and sister of the late John, Domenic, Joseph Ingemi, Mary Scialdoni, Jennie Femino and Stefana Azzolina.
Her Funeral will be held from the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., (cor of North St.) on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at 10:15 A.M. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 2 Margin St., Peabody at 11:00 a.m. Visiting hours at the Murphy Funeral Home, on Tuesday from 4:00 P.m. to 8:00 P.M.
