May Caroline ( White ) Dyson age 91 wife of the late Lloyd George Dyson, Sr. of Marblehead died Sunday, February 27, 2011 in the Jesmond Nursing Home, Nahant.

A true "Header" born in Marblehead at the end of World War I, May 30, 1919 the daughter of the late Alfred A. and Emma (Embree) White at the Hospital of Good Hope on Prospect St., that was owned by her grandmother and locally known as the Embree Hospital. Mrs. Dyson was raised and educated in Lynn, during the depression, graduating from Lynn English High School in the Class of 1937.
A graduate of the Fanny Farmer Cooking School, she and her late husband married in 1941. just prior to World War II and returned to Marblehead to begin their family .

A dedicated loving mother, she enjoyed and enthusiastically supported her children's activities After raising her family, Mrs. Dyson worked with Witham Catering for over 15 years.

Mrs. Dyson was an active member and a Deacon at the Old North Church in Marblehead as well as a knitter for the Penny Bear for many years.

Mrs. Dyson is survived by three children Lloyd G. Dyson, Jr., of Amesbury, MA, Bruce E. Dyson and his wife Leanne of Marblehead and Carol Rice and her husband Richard of River Ridge, LA; her best friend and cousin Barbara Tudal of Celebration, FL; five grandchildren, four great grandchildren and five nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral services on Friday, March 4 at 1pm in the First Church of Christ (Old North Church) 35 Washington St., Marblehead, MA 01945. Interment will be private. At the family request, there are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Association National Office 225 N.
