Maureen (Mo) Guarino (McConnell) passed away unexpectedly at the Beverly Hospital on Wednesday, January 8 ^th , 2019 at the age of 76. Maureen was born on February 16 ^th , 1943 to Sylvia and Basil McConnell in Berlin, NH. Eventually, Maureen married Richard Guarino, and the couple settled in Salem, MA. Mo was a hairdresser, and owned a few different salons in the North Shore area; her most recent salon was Magic Hands in Salem, MA.

Mo was known to be a very active person at the gym, and she made many friends there. She loved chatting with the other gym members, and people tended to gravitate towards her, telling her stories and vice versa. She was known to all as being extremely loving, kind, and she was a wonderful person with a beautiful spirit. She loved her family very much, and got such enjoyment simply knowing that her loved ones were happy and healthy. Mo loved to walk, dance, laugh, tell stories, and enjoy meals with her friends and family.

Maureen is survived by  her loving husband, Richard Guarino of Salem, MA; her son Curtis Coury and his wife Lisa of Peabody, Ma; her grandchildren Steph and her wife Stephanie Coury of Nashua, NH, and Alexander Coury of Peabody, MA; and her brother John McConnell of CT. Maureen is predeceased by her parents, Sylvia and Basil McConnell and her sister, Linda Cote.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, January 15, from 10AM to 11AM at the Murphy Funeral Home, located at 85 Federal Street, Salem, MA. A funeral service will immediately follow the visiting hours, and will also be held at the Murphy Funeral Home. Interment will take place following the service at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, 185 Lake Street, Peabody, MA.
