Matthew R Selecky age 29, of Salem died unexpectedly Friday evening following a long illness.
He was welcomed into the world as the second son of Kim and Marsha (White) Selecky. Matt was raised in Salem and attended St. Mary's Star of the Sea School in Beverly through eighth grade. He then attended Bishop Fenwick High School and graduated from Hamilton-Wenham High School in 1999.
For several years he was a glass installer on the North Shore until becoming ill. During his illness he had rescued his dog Roxy, enjoyed learning how to cook, going for car rides and golfing. Matthew will be most remembered as a kind soul with a generous heart who would always try to put others needs before his own. He had a beautiful smile and an infectious laugh that were enjoyed by all who had the honor to know him. He loved being with his niece and nephew and always ended every conversation with his mother by saying "I Love You!". He will be greatly missed by his loving family and many friends.
In addition to his parents, Matt is survived by his fiancé Jennifer Shakespeare, his twin sister Amy and her husband Anthony, his older brother Ben and his wife Krystina and their two children Mia and Noah, his younger brother Eric and his maternal Grandfather Henry C. White Jr.
His funeral will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at 9:00 AM from the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., (corner of North St) Salem to be followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M in St Thomas the Apostle Church, 260 North St, Salem. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be Friday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 P.M. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
