Mary T. Tyrrell, age 80 of Lynnfield, formerly of Salem, died Thursday at her home in Lynnfield.
Born in Salem the daughter of the late John and Ida (Sullivan) Tyrrell she was educated at the Fernald School in Waltham. Since 1983, Mary has been employed by Bridgewell Day Services and in 1984 she moved into a community living residence in 1994.
An avid debater, she enjoyed art, jewelry and playing with her pennies.
Miss Tyrrell is survived by a sister in law Myrtle Tyrrell of Haverhill; a niece Dianne Alice Kluge of Haverhill; a nephew Frank Tyrrell of Billerica and a dear friend and confidant Walter Nalesnik, M.D. of Lynn.
She was predeceased by two brothers John Tyrrell, USMC who died during World War II, Francis Tyrrell and a niece Patricia Muse.
A gathering of relatives and friends will be held on Sunday from 2 to 4 during which a vigil service will be held at 3:30PM in the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., (cor of North ST) Salem. Burial will be private. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Bridgewell Residence Fund, 834 Salem ST., Lynnfield, Ma. 01940.
