Mrs. Mary H. Stacey 90, of Marblehead passed away Tuesday, January 27th, 2009 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Mary was born in Peabody, MA, the daughter of the late John and Clara (Vlahos) Haritos. Following her education, she went to work to help get her family through the Great Depression .

She then married her husband, the late Donald M. Stacey, began her family and was a stay at home mom. An avid bowler, she also enjoyed her gambling often taking her daily walks to pick up her favorite scratch tickets and also loved to play the slot machines. Whenever she won however, she loved to share the wealth with her family.

Most of all she was a loving, caring, and giving mother and grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother, acting as a counselor to all of them. Mary also loved helping those who were down or sick, nursing them back to health in her own special ways, often bringing them meals.

Mary is survived by a son, Charles G. Stacey and is wife Gail (Fitzpatrick) of Grantham, NH and a daughter, Rita S. Havens and her husband Rensselaer of Marblehead; seven grandchildren Curt Havens, Stacey Barnes, Timothy Havens, Michael Havens, Denise Pelligrini, Melissa Stacey, Gregory Stacey ; ten great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; a brother Charles Haritos and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Mary was predeceased by two sons, Donald and Thomas Stacey as well as two brothers and a sister.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday at 11:00 A.M. at St. Michael's Episcopal Church, Marblehead, MA. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be Friday from 3 to 7 P.M at the Murphy Funeral Home 85 Federal St., (cor of North St) Salem. Interment will be in Waterside Cemetery, Marblehead.
