Mary E. (Sidoti) Leahy age 78, wife of Parker Leahy of Peabody, died Friday afternoon in Beverly Hospital following a long illness.
Born in Boston, the daughter of the late John and Nancy (Campo) Sidoti, she was raised and educated in South Boston where she attended local schools. Following her graduation from high school, Mrs. Leahy trained as a hairdresser while working at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Hospital. During her work at Mass Eye and Ear she met her husband to be, a patient recovering from surgery. They later married and raised a wonderful loving family. Mrs. Leahy enjoyed spending time with her family, and looked forward to bowling with her friends.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Robin Murphy and her fiancé Jack Bergin of Salisbury and Donna Anemoduris and her fiancé John Borden of Peabody; a sister Josephine Collins of Las Vegas, Nevada, and three grandchildren, Brianna Deschenes and her husband Frank of Concord New Hampshire and Fallon and Jake Anemoduris of Peabody.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Nancy Leahy and two brothers, Frank and Charlie Sidoti.
Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at 9:15 AM from the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St, (corner of North St) Salem to be followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Thomas the Apostle Church 290 North St, Salem, MA 01970. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem.
