Mary Ann (Murray) Noonan, 76
March 23, 1947 - January 14 , 2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Ann (Murray) Noonan, 76, on January 14, 2024.
Mary was born in Salem on March 23, 1947 to the late Dorothy Murray and William Murray. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Tom Noonan, her brother-in-law Tim Noonan and her siblings Donald Murray, Priscilla Haigh, Jane Pesce, and John Murray.
Mary was a graduate of Salem High School and resided in Salem until moving with her family to Danvers in 1980. With a love and gift for helping others, she worked as an airline stewardess, bank teller, a front desk concierge for Assisted Living, and a librarian's aide at Danvers High School. Mary was kind and possessed a great sense of humor and generous heart. She also volunteered at the Hospice House in Danvers for 13 years.
Mary passed peacefully surrounded by her family on January 14, 2024 after a courageous six-year journey with Early-Onset Alzheimer's Disease.
She is survived by two daughters, Kerry (Noonan) Kelley and her partner Sam Townsend of Derry, NH and Kim Noonan of Danvers, as well as Kate Murray, Robert L. Pesce, Lydia Murray, Skip and Barbara Whittaker and several loving nieces, nephews, close relatives, and cherished friends. She sadly leaves her precious grandsons, Jacob and Keegan, who were her world.
Mary loved the ocean and going to Devereux beach in Marblehead. She had a heart for animals, enjoyed collecting shells and rocks wherever she went, and loved to travel with her family.
Caring for someone you love with Alzheimer's is called The Long Goodbye. It is a very long journey filled with many ups and downs. Mary handled it all with strength, courage and dignity. Our hearts are broken but we want to focus on and celebrate the great times and wonderful memories we had together.
We have to give an enormous heartfelt thank you for the wonderful care and love given to Mary from Cheryl and staff in the Memory Care at The Linden at Danvers and also the amazing nurses and staff at Care Dimensions in Danvers.
There was a recent private service and burial held for family. Should you wish to honor Mary's life, in lieu of flowers, please donate to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan Street, Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923 in Mary Noonan's memory.
