Beverly – Mary E. (Walsh) McGrath age 85, wife of the late William E. McGrath formerly of Beverly, died peacefully Saturday morning April 1, 2017 at home.  Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Fredrick and Mary (Cotter) Walsh.  Mary graduated from Peabody High School.  She was employed for 40 years at New England Telephone and AT&T before retiring in 1992.  She was an active parishioner at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church in Beverly and a member of Division 18 Ladies A.O.H. in Salem.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Susan Fraser and her husband Michael of Peabody and Sharon McGrath of Beverly, 2 grandchildren Nicole Ippolito and her husband Patrick of New Jersey and Michael Fraser of Peabody and her great granddaughter Riley Ippolito.  She is also survived by her sisters Judy Walsh of Peabody and Judy Eastman of Bridgewater,  along with several nieces and nephews.  Her sisters Marilyn Cassidy and Ann Patricia Daley preceded her in death.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., Corner of North Street, Salem from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.  Her funeral will be held from the Murphy Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 253 Cabot St., Beverly at 10:00 A.M.  Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery in Salem.  For additional information or online guest book please call 978-744-0497 or visit www.MurphyFuneralHome.com .
