Mary M. (Mae) Dunn, age 96, was called to her eternal resting place on Friday, September 11, 2015. Mary was born on August 8, 1919 and raised in Salem, MA and lived her entire life in the City she loved until 2010.
She was predeceased by her loving parents Bartholomew and Mary (Phillips) Dunn Sr. and her devoted brother Bartholomew (Mike) Dunn.
She was employed by New England Telephone as a switchboard operator for 40 years until her retirement. Mae was an active communicant of St. James Parish in Salem, were she spent many years playing bingo. She also enjoyed traveling, her favorite places being Ireland and Bermuda. And of course, she enjoyed many lunches with her "club" girls.
Mary was a kind soul who will be greatly missed by her close friends.
Funeral Services will be held at the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., (cor. of North St) Salem on Wednesday morning at 11:00 A.M. Visiting hours are prior to the service from 9:30 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to the Discalced Carmelite Nuns, 15 Mt. Carmel Rd., Danvers, MA 01923.
