Salem……

Mary C. Lesch, age 92, of Salem died Thursday June 18 2009 in the Cedar Glenn Nursing Home, Danvers.


Born, raised and educated in Salem. the daughter of the late Ferdinand and Alice M (Quinlan) Lesch, she was graduated from St. Mary's Commercial School. Miss Lesch then became employed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Department of Public Welfare in Salem. During her career she furthered her education by taking Harvard University Extension courses, which advanced her responsibilities. In July of 1982 she retired as a Supervisor and pursued her passions of travel and photography.


She also shared her gift of crotchet by making wonderful gifts for family and friends as well as for fundraising efforts within the community.


She is survived by a brother F., Alfred Lesch and his wife Theresa of Beverly; two sisters, Alice Zulkowski of Port St. Lucie, FL and Anne E. Harney of Salem, with whom she had resided; a sister in law Evelyn L. Lesch of Danvers and many nieces and nephews.


She was predeceased by a brother Robert W. Lesch.

Her funeral will be held on Monday , June 22nd from the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., (cor of North St) Salem to be followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00 A.M. in the Immaculate Conception Church, 15 Hawthorne Blvd, Salem, MA 01970. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visitation will be on Monday morning before the funeral from 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. Interment will be private.
