Mary Alice Flynn, age 90, died early Monday morning, March 17, 2014 at the North Shore Medical Center – Salem Hospital. Born in Winchester, Miss Flynn was the daughter of the late Peter J. and Margaret (Gilbride) Flynn. She was raised in Reading where she graduated High School. She continued her education and attended two years of college.

Miss. Flynn was an executive Secretary and started her career with State Street and stayed for 26 years. Upon the departure of her supervisor, Miss. Flynn was requested to join him at the Keystone Group where she worked for 17 years until her retirement in the 1980's.

Miss. Flynn was a traveler. She enjoyed visiting family in Ireland and visiting Maine with friends. She loved the theater and was a season ticket holder at the North Shore Music Theater for many years. She also enjoyed dinning out; especially at the Hawthorne By the Sea and Red Rock in Swampscott. She would watch the Phantom Gourmet and would try new restaurants that he would review. For most of Miss Flynn's life, she enjoyed reading the Boston Globe and would read it from front to back every day and would share the information with her friends and family.

Miss. Flynn is survived by her family, Nancy Gildride and Patricia Gilbride both of Swampscott and Anne Gilbride of Marblehead. She will also be fondly remembered by the Lynch Family.

Miss Flynn's Funeral Mass will be held at St. John the Evangelist Church, 174 Humphrey St., Swampscott on Friday at 11:00 A.M. Visiting hours will be held prior to the Mass at the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., (cor of North St.) Salem from 9:00 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
