Mary was born in Salem, MA on August 23, 1922 to Josephine (Cliffe) and Charles Conwell. Mary was raised in Salem, MA, attended Salem High School and worked for New England Telephone for 12 years. On a vacation trip to The Balsams, NH with friends, Mary met the great love her life, John Vincent Bagley (1913-1974). They were happily married and they raised a loving family together including; their son, Brian Vincent Bagley & his wife Jessica of Manchester, NH and three children, Brian Bagley Jr., Boca Raton FLA and Brandon & Brittany Bagley, Raymond, NH. Daughter Mary Sparks & husband Timothy Sparks of Saugus, MA and their two children Katelyn Sparks of Boston, MA & Todd Sparks of Saugus, MA. Daughter Susan Palleschi and her two children, Sarah Palleschi & Connor Palleschi of North Andover, MA. Daughter Ann Keating & her two children, Kyle Keating & Olivia Keating of Rockport, MA. Mary was predeceased by her father, Charles Conwell (82), & her mother Josephine Conwell (101) of Salem, MA, her sister June Conwell (78) of Salem, MA, her brother Joseph Conwell (90) of Marblehead, MA.
Mary (nick-named "Mimi" by her first grandchild and called so affectionately by all) enjoyed participating in home decorating projects, cooking, gardening, shopping, dancing, and various craft projects especially wreath making. Mimi was a wonderful cook, making homemade full course meals for her family every single day. Her children and then her grandchildren recall affectionately all belonging to the "clean plate club" while under Mary's care.
Mimi's lifelong passion and greatest happiness was her love for her family. When her beloved husband John Vincent died at the age of 61 Mary went on to raise her four children, at the time ages 9, 14, 16 & 18, on her own. She was the ultimate homemaker and care-provider devoting her life to raising her children with unconditional love and affection. She was their greatest supporter and provider of comfort throughout their entire lives. Mimi was a very spiritual woman. She embraced her Irish heritage and fully lived her life and raised her family under the guidance of her catholic faith.
Mimi shared a close and special bond with each and every one of her grandchildren. She was an integral part of their upbringing and shared in every stage of their growth and development taking the utmost pride in their simplest accomplishments. Mimi was always her family's go-to for advice on whatever issue they were struggling with. Somehow she always knew just what to say to make everything better. Mimi's favorite song that she enjoyed singing to her children throughout life was "You Are My Sunshine". She was always the sunshine in her family's life and all memories of her will continue to bring sunshine to her loved ones. Mimi, "May the road rise to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face. May the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, May the Lord hold you in the palm of His hand."
