SALEM — Kay (MacInnis) Carideo, age 84, wife of the late Anthony "Tony" Carideo, of Salem, died Sunday afternoon, Aug. 28, 2011 in North Shore Medical Center, Salem.
Born in Glengary Valley, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada, the daughter of the late Martin and Catherine Anne (Gillis) MacInnis, she was raised and educated in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, and has been a U.S. citizen and resident of Salem for many years.
Mrs. Carideo was an auxiliary member of the AOH Division 18 in Salem and had many friends in the Couples Club. Mrs. Carideo loved her family and was very dedicated to them.
Surviving her are five children, Anthony T. Carideo, Jr. and his wife Diane of Middleton, Paul M. Carideo of Salem, Joan Carideo of Peabody, Linda M. Tremblay of Salem, Frank J. Carideo of Danvers; eight grandchildren, Christine M. Baker and her husband Sean, Michael P. Carideo, Jonathan Hayes, Jason Hayes and his wife Erin, Melissa Padayachee and her husband Peter, Nicole Tremblay, Kelsey Carideo, Danny Carideo; one great-grandchild, Colin Anthony Hayes; many cousins, nieces and nephews; one brother, Martin (Benny) MacInnis and his wife Ester of Towanda, Pa.; two sisters-in-law, Kay MacInnis of Big Pond, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada, Anne MacInnis of Sydney, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada; and one brother-in-law, Doug MacIntyre of Des Moines, Iowa. She was also the sister of the late Margaret MacKinnon, Florence MacIntyre, Josephine Colwell, Betty Morrison, Michael MacInnis and John MacInnis.
ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. James Church, 161 Federal St., Salem on Friday at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., (corner of North Street) Salem on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
