Mary Esther (Allen) Buckley, age 82, of Salem, MA passed away Saturday, September 17 ^th at her home in the company of loved ones. Born in Winthrop, MA, the daughter of Edith (Towle) and Warren Allen, a career army man, she spent much of her childhood moving from place to place including, Hawaii, San Francisco, and Salt Lake City before her family settled in Marblehead.  She graduated Marblehead High School and then went on to graduate from the Salem Hospital School of Nursing as a member of the "class of 55".  It was during this time that she met William V. Buckley on Deveraux beach whom she married.  They built a house in Salem where they raised 4 children and lived for the rest of her life while also working as a nurse at Salem hospital from 1959-1991.  Her greatest joys were spending time with family and friends, especially Sunday dinners, time with the lunch bunch, traveling, and her grandchildren.

Mary will be remembered by many for her laugh, she was grateful for the life she lived having many fond memories.

Mary was predeceased by her husband William and son Michael A. Buckley.  She is survived by her daughters Ellen Arrington and Dorothy Kilroe and her husband Ricky, her son Peter Buckley, her daughter-in-law Diane Buckley and 8 grandchildren; Jon and Lauren Arrington, Hannah and Megan Buckley, Julie Kilroe, and Mark, Daniel and Julia Buckley.

Her visiting hours will take place on Wednesday September 21, 2016 from 4 to 8PM at the Murphy Funeral Home 85 Federal St. (corner of North St.) Salem, MA 01970.  Her funeral service will take place on Thursday September 22, 2016 at 11AM also at the Murphy Funeral Home.  For additional information or online guestbook please visit www.MurphyFuneralHome.com or call 978-744-0497.
