MARBLEHEAD- Mary Ellen Branscombe (80), of Marblehead, passed away on Wednesday August 30, 2023 at the Lafayette Nursing Home in Marblehead. Born in Marblehead, Mary Ellen was the daughter of the late Helen (Godfrey) and Richard D. Walsh. Growing up, Mary Ellen attended Marblehead schools where she went onto graduate from. Following her time there, she attended Albertus Magnus in New Haven, CT. Following her time there, she went onto work at various companies in a variety of roles before eventually completing her career at Sapers and Wallack Inc.

Outside of her work, Mary Ellen loved afternoon tea with friends and was passionate about music, art, literature, and long walks. Mary Ellen was a friend of Bill W and she was committed to her work as a volunteer at the Lafayette Nursing Home in Marblehead and an active parishioner at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Marblehead.

Mary Ellen is survived by: her sons Richard F. Regan of Marblehead and Matthew J. Regan of Marblehead; her brother Peter Walsh and his wife Nelida of Nevada, her sister Sarah Goldsmith and her husband Robert of Carlisle. Mary Ellen is predeceased by her husband Norris E. Branscombe, her husband Francis M. Regan, and her brother Christopher Walsh.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday September 9, 2023 beginning at 1:00 PM at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, located at 135 Lafayette St, Marblehead, MA 01945. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Abbot Public Library Foundation PO Box 1409 Marblehead, MA 01945, the music program at St. Andrews, or by reading a book to another person.
