Mary Demas Andrian

CONCORD, N.H.- Mary (Demas) Andrian, age 85, passed away quietly in her sleep, surrounded by her loving family, on Tuesday, December 2, 2008 after a prolonged illness.

Born September 16th, 1923 in Salem, Mass. To the late Peter and Christina (Geanakopoulos) Demas, she was raised and educated in Salem, Mass.

Mary worked for the Clerk of Courts in Salem, Mass.; for GTE Sylvania in Danvers, Mass.; for the IRS in Andover, Mass.; and was a supervisor for the Federal Department of Labor in Boston, Mass. Following her retirement, she moved to Boscawen and Concord, N.H. where she has lived for the past 25 years. Much of her time was spent sitting in the first booth at her son's restaurant, Alan's of Boscawen (NH), which she very much enjoyed.

For many years she traveled extensively with her grandchildren throughout the US, the Caribbean Islands, and Greece, stopping for coffee at every Dunkin Donuts she could find. She was an avid shopper and sports spectator, who especially loved UNH Hockey, Football, and the Boston Red Sox. She also had a great affinity for her three German Shepherds; Breenie, Kouklitsis and Poca.

Grateful for having shared her life are her two children; daughter, Stephanie (Andrian) Souris, of Beverly, Mass. and son, Alan Andrian, of Concord, N.H.; her sister, Margaret (Demas) Fudala and her husband Stanley of Salem, Mass., sister Athena (Demas) Nickole and her husband George of Saugus, Mass.; first cousins Christo Dadasis of Salem, Mass. and Anna Pernokas of Peabody, Mass.; her three loving grand children, Peter Souris of Beverly, Mass., Christina Souris, of Penacook, N.H., and Alexandra Souris of Beverly, Mass. and her godson George Goulos of Peabody, Mass.

She was predeceased by her first cousins Despina Dadasis of Salem, Mass., Charles and Peter Anton of Salem, Mass. and her son-in-law Peter Souris of Beverly, Mass..

Her funeral will be held on Tuesday December 9th at 9:15 A.M. from the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., (cor or North ST) Salem to be followed by funeral services at 10:00 A.M. St.Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, 7 Paleologos St, Peabody, MA. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be Monday, December 8th, 2008 from 4 to 8 pm, at Murphy Funeral Home, Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
