Martha G. (Reno) Bird, age 91 years, wife of the late Walter H. Bird, passed away at her residence in Marblehead early Thursday morning September 22, 2016. Born in Newell, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Joseph E. Reno and the late Martha Hammond Cox Lambertson. She was raised and educated in Marblehead, graduating from Marblehead High School. She had lived in Marblehead most of her life.
Mrs. Bird had been previously employed as a bookeeper with Gilbert and Cole and Bursaw Breed Oil Companies. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed arts and crafts. She was very active in the Mary and Martha Society at the Grace Community Church in Marblehead where she worshiped for many years. Mrs. Bird was very proud of her family and cherished her time with them.
Surviving her are her three children, Steve Bird and his wife Karen of Marblehead, Randall Bird and his wife Diane of Farmington, NH, Cynthia Brennan and her husband Mark of Lynn. She was the Grandmother of Jennifer Bird of Marblehead, Caitlin Johnson and her husband Jarod of Bowdoinham, ME, Meghan Bird of Danvers, Tori Bird of Farmington, NH and Rachel Brennan of Lynn. She was also the Great- Grandmother of Avery, Cameron and Brooke Johnson of Bowdoinham, ME.
Her Funeral Services will be held at the Grace Community Church, 17 Pleasant St., Marblehead on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. Interment will follow the Services at Waterside Cemetery, 294 West Shore Dr., Marblehead. Following the Interment a collation will be held back at Grace Community Church. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Grace Community Church, 17 Pleasant St., Marblehead, MA 01945.
