Marjorie Marie "Queenie" Ward of Salem and Marblehead passed away peacefully on April 17th, 2021 at home.
Marie was born in Salem to Margaret and James Ward. She attended St Cretienne's Academy, Ursuline Academy and graduated from Regis college. She taught kindergarten and First grade in Beverly for many enjoyable years and retired to her house near the beach in Marblehead.
Queenie loved sailing, the beach, gardening and traveling. She especially loved spending time socializing with friends and family. Queenie was well known by her red t-bird convertible.
Queenie will be remembered lovingly by her family, neighbors and close friends. She is survived by numerous cousins, Laurie Albury & Elizabeth Churchill of Salem, Mary and Arthur Michaud of Florida and Salem, Sheila Lahey of Swampscott, Kathleen and Ron Trossbach of Virginia, and her faithful friend of many years, Ann Toomey of Marblehead.
Queenie's family would like to extend a sincere thank-you to Jessica LaVoie RN of Care Dimensions.
A private graveside ceremony will be held and a larger remembrance gathering will be held this summer.
