Salem……

Marjorie M. (Underwood) Moulton, age 78, wife of the late Robert C. "Yarnie" Moulton of Salem, died in the North Shore Medical Center, Salem Hospital, following a brief illness.

Born and raised in Danvers as a "Port Rat" in the Danversport Section of Danvers the daughter of the late Charles and Evelyn (Wright) Underwood. Upon completion of her education through the Danvers school system, she worked on local farms, CBS Hytron and Snow Crest Candy in Salem until beginning her career at the North Shore Medical Center-Salem Hospital and then Shaughnessy Hospital where she truly blossomed. She loved people and and especially loved working with the patients. She was affectionately known as the "Earring Lady" to co-workers and patients alike. She specialized in the Transport Department at Shaughnessy Hospital brightening people's days with conversation, her warm smile and the wide variety and quantity of earrings she would wear.

She was an extremely social person appreciating country and western music and enjoyed her memberships in the Polish Club in Danvers, and the American Legion Post in Beverly. Her passion for Boston sports shone through in her enthusiasm for both the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox.

Mrs. Moulton is survived by three children, Robert P. Moulton of Eleele, Hawaii, Sandra J. (Moulton) Frechette and her husband Mark of Peabody and Myron E. Moulton of Salem.; a brother Charles Underwood of Henderson, NV; two sisters, Jean Madugno of Beverly and Lois LeMay of Middleton, three grandchildren Leah, Jamie and Christopher; two great grandchildren Nicolai and Kenai and several nieces and nephews .

She was predeceased by a brother Franklin Underwood; two sisters Irene Moroney, Barbara LeBlanc and a grandson Adam Moulton.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at 6:00 P.M. in the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., (cor of North St) Salem. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visitation will be immediately before her funeral on Wednesday from 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. Interment will be private.
