Jerin, Marjorie (Jacobson) Age 96, of East Hampton, Ct., Cheshire, Ct. and Essex, Ma, passed peacefully on Sunday, December 27, 2020. She called herself a 'lucky lady' who enjoyed a long life as a wife, mother of four, grandmother of six, and great-grandmother of two. Marjorie enjoyed a thirty-year career as a teacher of Language Arts in East Hampton, Ct. and Southington, Ct. She was an active member of the First Lutheran Church in Southington for over 60 years, where she was a Sunday school teacher and was a member and President of the Church Women United. She loved travelling, camping, and elder hosteling throughout the United States and many parts of the world with her beloved husband William Simmons Jerin (deceased), her children, friends, and students. She treasured time spent at the family cabin in Clifton, Maine, and loved nothing more than welcoming family and friends into her home. She was a Cub Scout troop leader; a Lions club President and member in which she earned the Melvin Jones award, and a member of the League of Women's voters. True to her role as a Language Arts teacher, she loved nothing better than to read mysteries, history and always the daily paper. A perfect day for Marjorie was to enjoy a great meal with family and friends, engaging in conversation while sitting in the sun enjoying nature. Those whose lives she touched will always remember her loving, giving, kind and caring nature. She always had a smile on her face and always saw the good in life.  A private memorial service will be held on January 6 at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Hartford, Connecticut. In lieu of flowers, donations can be given in her name to the First Lutheran Church, 232 Bristol St. Southington, CT, 06489
